Meet Your Team - Ellen R. Fettig, BS, RDH

Treatment Coordinator

Since the late seventies, Ellen R. Fettig, has been advancing her skills to deliver the best care possible to referring dentists and patients alike. From 1978-1981, Ellen attended Marquette University where she studied dental hygiene earning a Baccalaureate of Science (BS) in Dental Hygiene.

From 1981 until 1984, Ellen worked at several general dental practices as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH). In 1984, she joined Herman McNamara Periodontics, (renamed Progressive Periodontics and Dental Implants SC, in 2003) where she found her niche, helping people restore and maintain their periodontal health. In 2001, Ellen received a certificate to administer local anesthetic, broadening the scope of her capabilities.

With the onset of dental implant technologies to replace missing teeth, Progressive Periodontics and Dental Implants formed a new Treatment Coordinator (TC) position to act as a liaison between the general or referring dentist, their patients and their periodontal practice. In 2007, she enthusiastically took on this new role. Today, as treatment coordinator, she serves two groups: dentists who recommend and restore implants that PPDI places and patients who’s lives are improved by them. Ellen works with patients directly, educating them on implants and how they can improve their lives.

With technological advancements occurring continuously in implantology and periodontology, Ellen’s role as TC involves educating and updating referring dentists and their staff on changes in the industry. Together, with Dr. McNamara, dental laboratories and manufacturers they perform on-site visits, lunch and learns and seminars including CE for dental professionals.

Some recent seminars and Lunch and Learn Presentations include:

  • "Technological Advances in Implant Dentistry: Guided Surgery."
  • "CT Guided Implant Placement."

  • "Implants & the Esthetic Zone."
  • Fall 2011 Guided Surgery with CoDiagnostiX Nu-Art Labs & Greenfield office

As a licensed health care professional, Ellen strongly believes continuing education is key to staying informed and up to date in the field of dentistry. Since graduation, she has attended continuing education courses on a regular basis.
